This is where
"the rubber meets the
road".
There is an old
saying "there is no
substitution for cubic
inches". The greater number
of cubic inches you have the
more amount of air you can
move through the engine,
creating greater
horsepower.
In the end all
of this allows you to
move from zero to ??
faster.
We offer
several packages that
allow you to achieve that
"faster end".
The first four
packages are for the
LS-1, LS-6, LT-1 and
LT-4. These packages
increase the base circle
that the "stroker motor"
moves in. The stroker
motor is a combination of
internal moving parts
chief among them are the:
heads, camshaft and
valves. The heads are
placed in a C&C
(computerized numeric
counter) where precise
measurements are taken
and modifications made to
maximize the flow of air
through the combustion
chamber. The grind of the
camshaft is customized
based on the use of the
vehicle.
Here are the
three packages for the
LT-5. These range from
increasing horsepower by
35, to adding ten inches
to the engine size and
creating a 550 horsepower
monster.
These three
packages involve cleaning
out some of those
imperfections we spoke of
earlier. One of these is
the "porting" process,
which removes some of the
pieces of metal that may
have remained in the part
as a result of the
casting. It also leaves a
smooth surface. The
smooth surface creates a
quicker transfer of air
through the part that has
been ported. Another is
cutting angle edges into
valves this also
increases airflow. The
normal connecting rods
are replaced with rods
made of stronger billet
steel.
We
also do a custom balancing
of the whole rotating mass.
The entire rotating mass is
weighed and balanced to the
smallest degree to eliminate
any shaking.
